Helping Travelex Middle East Elevate Frontline Sales and Service Performance with Leaguestar.

Travelex, a global leader in foreign exchange and international payments, took its commitment to innovation and frontline excellence to the next level in late 2024 with the introduction of Leaguestar, powering a refreshed League of Champions (LoC) programme across the UAE.Developed in partnership with The Gamifier Group, LoC is a gamified performanceinitiative designed to energise teams, celebrate success, and elevate everyday performance through the healthy competition that gamification brings.

The programme kicked off with a pilot in the United ArabEmirates, involving 23 teams and +500 employees across the region. The resultsspoke for themselves: teams delivered double-digit improvements across many oftheir key sales and service KPIs. Building on this success, the pilot quicklyevolved into a full rollout across the Travelex Middle East and Turkey (MET)network.

Seeing the proven impact of Leaguestar, Travelex recognisedthe League of Champions as a way to unite its regional teams, spanning Bahrain,Qatar, Oman, Turkey, and the UAE, under one shared performance engagementframework.

Today, the programme engages 44 teams and nearly 1,000 employees in tailored competitions that reflect local dynamics and operational goals. To further elevate engagement, Travelex introduced The Round Up, asport-style news series that spotlights top performers, standout moments, andteam highlights. Sprint challenges such as Transaction Goal Getters and regional tournaments like Battle of the Best have added even more excitement and visibility to the programme.

Since launch, the LoC competition has delivered solidresults, with more than 60% of the 53 tracked KPIs across the region showingstrong upward momentum, and these achievements are brought to life through Leaguestar’sArena, an Instagram-style social space where frontline team members shareresults, celebrate wins, and inspire peers through real-time posts. Whenexceptional performances occur, the Arena ROAR feature comes into play. Teammembers can broadcast standout achievements straight from the app or desktopportal to live LeagueStream screens in regional head offices, transformingrecognition into a shared moment of pride.

The League of Champions has become woven into the culture atTravelex, shaping how teams work and celebrate success. By gamifying businessobjectives and celebrating progress in real time, the programme has helpedenergise teams, elevate performance, and foster a shared sense of purposeregion-wide. It stands as a testament to Travelex’s belief that empoweredpeople deliver exceptional results.
